Workflow Workbench

Build visual workflows. Run them locally. Inspect every result.

Web App

Workflow Workbench is a free, MIT-licensed local automation tool by CodeWhen. Build flowcharts in your browser, keep workflows in readable YAML, and execute them with a Python engine on your own machine.

Build visually: connect cards for Python, Bash, HTTP requests, file operations, calculations and manual decisions. Use variables, conditions, loops, parallel branches and reusable functions to compose workflows beyond a single script.

Run and inspect: follow live status and logs, inspect typed return values, and review saved HTML and JSON evidence. Validate a workflow before execution, and use the CLI for non-interactive runs and reports.

Keep projects together: manage workflows in a shared local library, start from bundled examples, and use the built-in searchable documentation for card guides and complete workflow examples.

Get started with npx @codewhen/workbench create. The npm launcher requires Node.js 18+ and Python 3.11+. A Python-only wheel installation is also available from the project’s GitHub releases.
